In the Kobold Lair

Ambiorix the archaeologist, Reppa the druid, Stormbolt the taninim trueblood sorceror, and Froing the cleric subdued the kobold shaman while Pyotr the Hunter, his tiger Ilya, and Reppa’s wolf Wulfgar waited outside watching the horses.

The kobold shaman, Tartuk, was down, but the other kobolds were not finishing him off on account of their chief, Sootscale, running away. Stormbolt addressed the kobolds and told them that they were free of Tartuk’s curse and that Sootscale had been bewitched and would return to normal soon. Reppa found Sootscale in the corridor, and gestured for him to rejoin his clan. Froing pocketed the wand.

Reppa determined that purple kobolds are not normal. Stormbolt stood on Tartuk’s chest and cast detect magic. He identified that Tartuk’s bracers were magical. Sootscale returned and the kobolds flocked to him. He told them that the terrible curse that Tartuk had brought upon them had been lifted and they no longer had to sacrifice the young in the pointless war with the mites.

A kobold ran up to Reppa and started shouting at her. She directed him to Stormbolt. The dragon took the bracers and gave them to Froing. Then he bit and killed the shaman while Froing was trying to heal him. Stormbolt to his followers that the dragon wanted to eat the shaman.

Stormbolt asked for the ring. The kobolds started searching in an alcove. Stormbolt told Reppa and she joined them. They uncovered a mound of shiny things, as well as a leather bag. Reppa grabbed the ring as soon as it was removed from the bag. It was a plain brass ring set with a single pearl as described by Svetlana.

Stormbolt cast Detect Magic in the alcove. There were four additional auras there. He identified that there was magic in the pouch, a bundle of crossbow bolts was enchanted, and a stronger item was still buried. At that time, the kobolds started getting annoyed by them searching through their loot. Reppa gave Sootscale 5 gp to let them look through the stash. Sootscale was still reluctant.

Stormbolt paid 10gp for Tartuk’s journal. Reppa paid 5gp for the pouch. Froing traded his bow and arrows for the magic crossbow bolts. Sootscale still refused to let them look for the last item. Stormbolt suggested trading some of their acquired wares. They were impressed that we had the woman’s axes. They were also interested in the daggers and short swords. Stormbolt traded them for the last magic item in their horde, which was some boots.
