Returning to Oleg’s
Having obtained what they came for, the party set out to return to Oleg’s Trading Post. They elected to follow the path they took to get to the kobold lair through the woods in order to collect more radishes for Svetlana. They travelled until nightfall and made camp.
On the second watch, Ambiorix and Piotr spotted some kobolds traveling along the river. They elected not to alert the kobolds of the party’s presence, and they passed by unawares. The rest of the night passed uneventfully.
The Hopeless Bandits
They continued along the river and then heard voices arguing around a small rise about their upcoming attack on the party. Stormbolt snuck up and spotted half a dozen. Piotr and Ilya advanced and Ilya leapt over the intervening boulder to bite one. Ambiroix and Reppa hobbled the horses. Froing kept walking. The bandits shot Piotr and Ilya.
Stormbolt leapt out and fired his breath weapon at the bandits, downing two. Ilya shredded another. Piotr missed. Ambiorix and Froing advanced to join the fight. Froing advised the bandits to surrender. The bandit fighting Piotr dropped his bow to draw his sword, and Piotr bested him. Then Ilya shredded the last bandit.
They travelled the rest of the day until they arrived at a rickety bridge. The camped there for the night, which passed uneventfully.
In the morning they continued up the river, but avoided the bandit camp and camped for the night at the edge of the forest.
The next day, they found the radish patch. There were no kobolds present, so they collected a sufficient quantity of moon radishes for Svetlana to make her soup. Then they continued on toward Oleg’s. By nightfall they were within a few hours of the trading post, so they made camp for another quiet night.
Back at Oleg’s
In the morning they returned to Oleg’s Trading Post. As they approached, they saw some guards on the south side facing the wilderness. When the guards saw the party, one raised his bow, but the other recognized the party from the description they had been given.
Upon entering the compound, they noted a line of tents behind the stables. There were two newcomers in uniforms at the table near the fireplace. Oleg introduced the lead guard as Kesten Garess. Ambiorix gave the moon radishes to Svetlana and the ring to Oleg.
They identified what they wanted to keep and had a meal. Stormbolt commissioned a harness to carry gear on. While they were eating, they were approached Jhod Kavken, a cleric of Erastil, a god of the wilderness. He asked the party to locate a lost temple of Erastil in visions he had received. He believed that it was guarded by a bear, but there was something strange about it.
