After the Fight
Froing and Reppa healed the party. Froing then cast Detect Magic, but the trolls had nothing magical on them. They burned the trolls and Ambiorix’s body. Nothing was attracted by the fire.
The Troll Lair
In the morning, they searched for the troll lair. Piotr, Ilya, and Reppa tracked the trolls downstream. They veered off into a copse of trees where the was a nest. There were no signs of life.
Froing cast Detect Magic on thee troll spoor pile, and found a treasure trove. The collected the loot and trekked back to the lost temple. They camped there for the night, which passed uneventfully in peaceful bliss.
More Exploration
The next day, they continued north toward the edge of the forest and Oleg’s Trading Post. They explored the area to the south of the Thorn River, but there was no good place to ford it.
Fairie Highjinks
On the third watch that night, Stormbolt suddenly felt happy and compelled to swim in the icy river. Froing heard laughter in the trees. It was Prevalash. Then Froing was compelled to go for a swim, but he took off his armor first.
Ilya was awakened by the noise from the river, and was compelled to swim as well. This awakened Piotr and Reppa. They recognized Prevalash’s giggling. Reppa held up some food. She felt a compulsion, but resisted it. Prevalash became visible and accepted the food.
Stormbolt snapped out of the euphoria and was cold and wet. He leapt from the water. He cast a Jolt at Prevalash, but missed. The fairie dragon was overjoyed and flew off. He cast another Jolt. Froing snapped out of it. Ilya caught some fish. The rest of the night passed without incident.
Back to Bandit Camp
In the morning, they backtracked toward the ford at the bandit camp. Traveling along the river, they found a large brown bear fishing in the river. They avoided it. The bear did not notice them until they were passing and ignored them.
They reached the camp at nightfall and stopped for the night. There were no signs of humanoid activity since they left it. Reppa returned from hunting first. Piotr and Ilya were still out when something big emerged from a tree and attacked Max. It was a large green humanoid that hit and grabbed the wolf. Reppa identified it as a shambling mound.
Jeju attacked the monster, but failed to hurt it. Max bit, but failed to hurt it. Reppa cast Burning Gaze to no effect. Stormbolt advanced and bit at it, but was slammed by the creature instead. Froing cast Shield of Faith on Stormbolt. The mound constricted Max.
