The Ruins by the River
The party traveled to the area to the north of kobold settlement to explore and document that area. The journey was uneventful and they made camp for the night, which was also quiet.
In the morning, they surveyed the north bank of the Shrike River, which was rocky, narrow, and swift. Stormbolt flew ahead to spot any problems and noted a ruined building upstream on the northern bank of the river. He returned to the party with the information.
They continued on their way, mapping as they went, and arrived at the ruins near sunset. The structure was the shell of a wooden house that had burned down. There were also the remains of a bridge and sign for Nettles Bridge. The made camp nearby and the night passed without incident.
In the morning, before they departed, Oostend rang the old bed by the remains of the bridge. Nothing happened, but they had found no other ford of the river. They would need to backtrack a few days to where the rivers meet and ford there in order to explore the other side.
Instead, they returned to the build site two days later to oversee the final development of the capital city and establishment of their new realm.
