Cerulean flew down the tunnel to see what the dog was barking at. He found two more Troll Hounds chained to a wall. Hemlock joined K’rek in the next chamber. Trent moved up as well. K’rek joined Cerulean and the dog on B’kun. Tia, the elven ranger, called the dog back.
Cerulean breathed fire on the Troll Hounds. Hemlock advanced and threw an Acid Splash toward the hounds. One of the burning hounds ripped it leash out of the wall and attacked B’kun. The boar gored at his attacker. K’rek slashed with his sword.
Cerulean closed to bite and claw the attacking wolf and killed it. The other wolf broke its leash and attacked Cerulean. Trent absorbed damage from the other party members and infused K’rek’s lance with acid. The kobold stabbed and the boar gored it savagely to kill it. The room was otherwise vacant.
K’rek moved down the opposite passage to a room filled with boxes, barrels, crates, and bags. Trent scanned the area for magic, but found none. Instead there were quantities of supplies and foodstuffs. There was also a hole in the wall. Tia noted troll and troll hound tracks going into and out of it.
Cerulean led the way through the opening. The passage wound around and eventually split in two. They elected to follow a rough tunnel. It led to a small damp cavern strewn with skulls, a circle drawn with blood, and a two-headed troll.
Cerulean breathed fire on the troll. Trent moved up and infused K’rek’s lance with acid. K’rek challenged the troll and then charged it, but it evaded. Hemlock moved up and threw and Acid Splash. Tia and Blizzard advanced and flanked the troll. The elf slashed it. The troll postured, which intimidated K’rek. Then the other mouth bit him, and he was clawed.
The dragon closed and bit the troll. Trent absorbed some wounds from B’kun and then moved toward the circle. He cast Detect Magic and found some in the circle and also on the troll. K’rek withdrew out of the troll’s reach. Hemlock cast another Acid Splash. The dog tried to trip the troll. The ranger slashed the troll twice. The troll hit Cerulean with both bites, both claws, and a rend.
Cerulean hit the troll with a breath charged bite and a claw. Trent moved to K’rek’s position and cured some of his wounds. K’rek then charged the troll with his lance and it killed it. Trent healed himself and then uncovered the magical amulet that the troll was wearing. But he could not identify it.
The circle contained a magical stone and large amounts of coin. The stone was a Dusty Rose Prism Ioun stone. They gave it to the ranger. After healing the dragon and bagging the loot, the party returned the fork and looked down the other passage.
The cavern at the end of the other passage contained foul sleeping pallets, two of which were occupied.
