The trolls were not sleeping. The ranger ran toward her favored enemy. Hemlock and Trent assessed the situation. Cerulean moved to the side and breathed a line of sculpted fire on the other troll. K’rek and B’kun engaged the troll attacking the dragon.
The ranger and her dog flanked the troll and she sliced it three times. The troll bit and clawed Cerulean. The other troll clawed and rent the ranger savagely. K’rek changed targets and left the first troll to the dragon and slew the other one.
Hemlock hit the remaining troll with an Acid Splash and killed the other one. Trent absorbed some of the damage from the others. Cerulean looked down the passage beyond the cavern to see a side passage and another cavern further down. He looked down the side passage, which narrowed before opening into another cavern.
There was a rotting meat stench and cooler air coming from the cavern down the main passage. K’rek on B’kun and Cerulean investigated that chamber. There were piles of corpses of animals and humanoids. Most had been decapitated. There was a troll cook in the chamber.
K’rek and B’kun charged the troll. The dragon advanced and hit with a flame breath-charged bite. The troll attacked the kobold. Hemlock hit with an Acid Splash. Trent infused K’rek’s lance with acid. He also identified the troll as a rock troll, which was vulnerable to acid, but not fire. The ranger closed and hit the troll.
K’rek and B’kun charged again and lanced the troll. Cerulean breathed acid on the troll and killed it. Hemlock glanced down the other passages, but there were no signs of activity.
Cerulean flew into the last cavern with K’rek and B’kun below. Inside was a wheel-less wagon lay. On one side was a large, carved wooden throne upon which sat a large troll.
Cerulean breathed fire on the troll. Trent infused K’rek’s lance again. Hemlock watched the back. The troll pulled a charm from its necklace and threw a fireball. Trent was consumed in the blaze, as were most of Hemlock and K’rek’s possessions. K’rek challenged and then charged the troll and impaled it. The ranger and her dog closed and she struck the troll.
Cerulean maneuvered for a clear shot. Hemlock moved in and prepared. The troll attacked the kobold with a morning star twice and fell from his mount. B’kun defended his rider. The ranger struck the troll with her sword.
Cerulean breathed fire on the troll. Hemlock cast Grease on the troll’s morning star and it dropped it. The troll mauled the ranger savagely. K’rek stopped bleeding. B’kun gored the troll. The ranger hit the troll and then went down.
Cerulean closed. The troll hit him before he bite and killed it. He roasted the troll for good measure.
