The wand pointed out a side exit. The path led to a fork. Lylou went in the indicated direction. Chesley followed her and discovered a slimy amorphous blob laced with pseudopods, eyes and several mouths.
A fish man appeared and Gideon attacked. Magda joined in and saw five more fish men deeper in the cavern. Finlay loaded his crossbow. The monster slammed into Lylou.
Gideon ran to protect Lylou. Magda shot and followed. Magda brought up the rear. Lylou hit the monster with a Magic Missile. The thing slammed into Magda. The fish men blocked the heroes retreat.
Magda hit the monster. Lylou cast another Magic Missile. The thing slammed into Magda again. Gideon speared it and it exploded casting a foul stench throughout the room.
They ran down the passage, which ended at a pool. Chesley healed the party. Lylou cast Detect Magic on the pool and there was a faint aura. Magda noticed a stream of small bubbles rising up from below.
Magda stepped into the pool and sank. Chesley followed. Lylou jumped in. Gideon noticed the fish men approaching. Finlay and Gideon dove in as well.
