The Drunken Giant
The heroes discovered a giant singing loudly and drunkenly Hemlock cast a comprehend languages spell to learn that he was singing about how great he is:
The ground shakes when I walk by
My club blots out the sky
The giant was not bothering anyone and there were no complaints about a drunken giant singing badly, but perhaps he knew where the trolls could be found. Cerulean reasoned that, since giants and dragons were traditionally hostile to each other, he should not participate.
In the end, Hemlock approached and asked about the trolls. The giant was disgusted at them mention of the trolls and pointed west toward where he thought they could be found. The giant, whose name was Munguk, wanted more to drink, and said that the trolls would not let him come near.
Munguk said that the trolls were inhabiting an old dwarven fort. They proceeded in the indicated direction and Cerulean took to the air to scout ahead, but there was an obscuring fog that limited visibility.
Another Dragon
They proceeded west for a few days with Cerulean flying overhead, but he did not spot anything resembling a fortress. From above the trees a few miles north of the others, Cerulean spotted another flying creature. He closed to discover that it was another dragon of a greenish hue close to that of the trees. It noticed him and approached.
Cerulean greeted the dragon, but it shouted “MY TERRITORY” and breathed acid on him before closing and snapping at him. Cerulean breathed back and singed the larger drake.
The dragon breathed again, and this time left a cloud of acid between them. Cerulean flew over the cloud. The drake closed and bit Cerulean’s belly. Cerulean hovered and clawed back. The green slapped him with its tail. Cerulean hit with a breath-charged bite.
The green slapped again with his tail and fled. Cerulean hit him with another blast of naptha breath as he flew off. Cerulean returned to the others and they camped for the night.
Searching for Trolls and Found a Dead Elf
The party doubled back and searched the region they had previously passed through for a few days, but still found no trolls or dwarven fortresses. They ventured southward of the giant’s position, but still found no trolls.
They mapped out the region around the giant. They could still hear the tuneless singing, but did not approach him. They returned into the woods and explored more thoroughly.
On the tenth day since their departure from Stormhaven, the party discovered the body of a dead elf. It was badly corroded by acid. On the body they found a masterwork darkwood longbow and tattered and blood-stained cloak. Hemlock identified it as a Cloak of Elvenkind. They made camp for the night.
On the first watch, Cerulean noticed a shambling mound approaching the camp. He roared to awaken the others and summon K’rek from his patrol. Hemlock and Trent were awakened.
Cerulean breathed fire on the mound. Hemlock levitated. K’rek charged it from pigback and skewered it. The shambling mound attacked K’rek. Cerulean hit with bite and claws. Krek and B’kun missed. Hemlock hit it with Scorching Ray. The mound attacked K’rek again and grabbed him. Cerulean clawed the mound and killed it.
