Having completed the N’s assignment to document the experimental radar installation near Fouras that enabled German controllers to track Allied shipping and lead aircraft to them, Didier was expecting instructions from N on how to be exfiltrated to England. Instead, he received orders for he and his team to go to Rennes in Brittany to provide support to another team looking into a possible chemical weapons factory.
At the indicated dead drop, Didier found approved travel documents for the three of them, as well as papers for David with the identity of Jean Reno, a Mechanic from Pontault-Combault east of Paris. After collecting their possessions, the three arrived at the station separately and purchased tickets to Rennes by way of transfers at Poitiers and Le Mans.
