The team previously found a sphere with arcane etchings on it. They had sought out someone to identify what it was, but had not had much success. The sphere was in Se’Lak’s possession.
They met the Beer Baron after completing a mission. He mentioned the Pegasus Roadhouse, a bar in Nestoria where they could get free beer by mentioning his name to Winifred, and a sage in Nestoria named Fakaria who might be able to identify the sphere.
The team journeyed to Nestoria and found the Pegasus Roadhouse. There was already a celebration in progress.
Se’Lak went to the bar and said that the Beer Baron had told him to see Winifred. Her husband offered them beer and various foods while they waited for her. The celebration was to celebrate the end of the Beer Baron distribution tour, and that he would be there soon and everything was on him that night.
Se’Lak noticed that there were a few orcs around and avoided them. He noted some people from Karros, as well as Nestoria and other places. There are some dice games going on. The Nestorian musicians attempted to play other regional tunes with passable success.
Finn found a table to one side that was out of the way. A drunk at the next table told them that the Beer Baron loved the Pegasus Roadhouse. He had come for the special brew that the Beer Baron was bringing for the party.
Tevek scanned the room looking for signs of magic. The drunk asked about the food Tevek had brought. He directed the drunk toward the buffet.
Thorin looked around for technological items of interest.
Finn kept watch on the others as they
Se’Lak was captivated by the leader of the minstrels, who was a tall, lanky, attractive female elf in colorful silks with lots of tattoos. Thorin noticed that their instruments were technologically enhanced.
At one point, the elf invited the crowd to participate in the telling of a tall tale. She pointed out the team as friends of the Beer Baron and asked them to provide a fresh take on the tale.
Finn stood and slowly approached the stage to participate. He introduced himself as Argos of nowhere and every place. He had seen the chaos that the prophet had laid upon whole peoples. He said that he and his compatriots had pledged to stop it and came to to sway the warlord to his cause. He relayed the story of Se’Lak the Mighty repelled several hundred orc bandits. Tevak the Strong fought back the hordes…
Se’Lak added that the Fates themselves allied with them to aid in the defeat of the bandits, but were it not for stalwart allies such as the warlord, the war would continue.
The taproom resounded with applause and praise as they returned to their table.
Suddenly, a walking robotic keg entered the roadhouse showing signs of battle and serious damage, and giving off sparks. Tevek could tell that it was in bad shape. The bar went quiet. The bartender asked Keg-E what was wrong. It replied that the Baron had been attacked.
The team approached. Tevek initiated repairs. Se’Lak asked where. Keg-E provided the location. Tevek reseated some pipes and minor repairs to restore Keg-E to passable functionality.
Then they left to save the Old Chaotic Neutral.
