Payment Terms

Ely suggested that, since Huggy Bear did not settle his debts promptly, they should know what they wanted from him before returning the suit.

  • Kyna wanted to use her favor to get information about the wizard at the theater and his daughter.
  • Ely considered asking for a magical device to draw attackers to him instead of the others, with the ability to be turned on and off, that blends in.
  • Walter wanted to know what was happening to Brandon, without harming him, and what to do about it.
  • Zoe asked for information on the mystical history of her tattoo, which causes strange things to happen to her in the Nevernever. Huggy Bear said that he did not want to “upset him” and asked her to pick something else. She asked for information on her tattoo, which causes strange things to happen to her in the Nevernever.

Huggy Bear offered to research the wizard and his daughter, to observe Brandon for 24 hours and report what he observes, to give Ely d’Artagnon’s hat, which he had dyed orange, and gave Zoe a prepaid telephone card and 10 calls to contacts he provided. They accepted his offers.

Once they were back at the diner, Kyna asked Zoe about the tattoo. She said that she got it from Pan during the adventure with the troll. They left it at that.

After discussing their options, Walter read the others in on Brandon’s case. It occurred to him that a sleep study might be in order as Brandon said things happened when he was asleep. He agreed to arrange it in the morning. Then they all went home.

  • Kyna restocked her materials.
  • Ely restocked his bag.
  • Zoe went home to sleep.
  • Walter went home to sleep.

The Sleep Study

Walter woke up at noon. He called to arrange for a sleep study, but was only to find a slot at the sleep center in three weeks. Ely was able find an available slot for them to use. He contacted Brandon’s parents to arrange for them to drop him off at the sleep center at 7PM and pick him up in the morning at 8AM. He informed the others, and they met at the sleep center at 6PM.

Kyna observed Brandon with her Sight when he arrived. She saw a strange color to his aura. Walter explained the process to Brandon and the others. Ely was preoccupied with sedatives. Kyna escorted him to the suite and Walter connected him to the equipment. Kyna noticed that the boy was checking her out as she left.

Kyna informed the others that there was something mystical about him. It was possible that it was transference from mystical being.

Walter spoke with Brandon before he went to sleep. Brandon informed him that he had an imaginary girlfriend who he met on the Internet. Brandon’s description of the girl changed as he talked about her.

Zoe, who was listening, realized that he did not actually remember how they met. His mind had been deliberately clouded. There were numerous entities that could be responsible. They debated what to do when the entity arrived. Ely loaded rock salt into his shotgun.  

Kyna suggested setting up a warding circle. Walter suggested preparing a ward to trap the entity. Not knowing what was coming, Kyna said the ward might not work against it. They decided to set up a ward around the observation room and one around the bed, but to not activate them until needed.

Around 11:30, Brandon and Walter were asleep. The others noted a shimmering blue light having over Brandon. Kyna tried to enter, but the door would not open. Ely phased through the wall into the bedroom. Kyna prepared to blast the door open.

Zoe attempted to burst the door open, but it did not move. Kyna blasted the door. It glowed red, but did not open. Walter woke up. Ely went to open the door from the inside. He noticed a tie of blue-green light across the doorknob.

Zoe tried to open the door again. She hit it hard and it flew open, knocking the shotgun out of Ely’s hands. Kyna entered the room. She felt a wave of fear that washed past her. She saw a voluptuous woman in a harem costume, from the waist up, and smoke below, hovering over Brandon. Kyna gathered power and threatened the entity, but it did not respond. Walter saw the entity. Ely recovered his shotgun.

Zoe grabbed for the bed and the entity slapped her hands away. Kyna blasted the entity while it was distracted and it got knocked over. Walter could not identify the entity. He examined the read outs from the equipment and noted that there was normal sleep activity until about fifteen minutes ago. Ely prepared to fire his shotgun, but realized that the room was too small to shoot. He drew the cold iron frying pan.

Zoe went to grab for Brandon, but could not get a grip on him because his surface felt slimy. Kyna used her Sight to see the entity. It was thoroughly entangled in Brandon’s privates and leeching his life energy in order to manifest. She asked Walter what to do. He said to wake Brandon up and confront him with his repressed fantasies. Walter ran into the bedroom and tried to tap Brandon’s cheek to wake him, but slid off the slime. Ely hit the entity in the face, but it evaded the blow.

Zoe slapped Brandon. There was a flash of greenish-blue light, and then the entity was standing on two legs on the floor and was about three feet tall. Brandon was awake. Kyna recognized that blasting with cold would have the most effect. She threatened the entity while gathering power. The entity leapt at Kyna and clawed her face. Walter attempted to make Brandon confront his fantasy. Ely donned his hat. Brandon got up to go to the bathroom.

Zoe punched the entity, which was distracted by Ely’s hat. The entity raised an arm to block, and it broke. Kyna grabbed the entity and released her cold energy. It shimmered for a moment, and then it’s chest became solid. The entity slashed Kyna again. Walter realized that the blue was some kind of shield. Ely moved in and caught its attention. Brandon walked around the bed, slapped the entity in the butt, went into the bathroom, and closed the door. The solid chest turned blue.

Zoe tried to punch it, but missed. Kyna blasted with cold again. The entity screamed “I’ll be back” and blew apart in a fireball. The room caught on fire. Walter grabbed Brandon and dragged him out of the bedroom. Zoe followed. Kyna started putting out the fire. Ely dragged Kyna out. Then the sprinklers went off.
