Tatzlwyrm Loot
Pyotr the Hunter and his tiger Ilya, Reppa the druid and her wolf Wulfgar, Ambiorix the archaeologist, Stormbolt the taninim trueblood sorceror, and Froing the cleric defeated the three tatzlwyrms. After Froing healed the party’s wounds, they searched the area and found the tatzlwyrm lair.
Owlbear Attack
They made camp for the night. On the second watch, Ambiorix heard a loud crashing, stomping sound heading toward them. He recognized the creatures as a pair of owlbears.
The owlbears advanced. Piotr woke the dragon. Ambiorix woke Froing. Reppa awoke herself, and then awakened Wulfgar. Stormbolt stood and cast an empowered Energy Missile and hit the lead owlbear.
The owlbears charged at Froing and Stormbolt. Froing was hit hard. Ilya and Piotr attacked. Piotr hit one on Froing. Ilya hit the one on Stormbolt. Ambiorix flanked the one of Froing, but missed. Reppa cast Summon Nature’s Ally. Wulfgar defended her. Froing hit his opponent. Stormbolt hit with bite and claws.
The owlbear dropped Froing. Other bit and clawed Stormbolt and then grabbed him. Ilya clawed Froing’s foe. Piotr missed. Ambiorix missed. Reppa’s stirge appeared and attacked the owlbear. Wulfgar also attacked while Reppa found Froing’s healing potion. Wulfgar bit the owlbear. The stirge missed. Stormbolt clawed the owlbear.
The owlbear killed Wulfgar. The other clawed Stormbolt. Ilya killed one of the owlbears. Piotr hit the other. Ambiorix missed. Reppa fed the healing potion to Froing. The strige missed. Stormbolt bled.
The owlbear clawed Piotr. Ilya bit the owlbear hard. Piotr missed. Ambiorix hit the owlbear. Reppa dreew her scythe and attacked but missed. Stormbolt continued to bleed.
The owlbear fled. Piotr killed it as it turned. Reppa hacked up the owlbears out of rage. Then she performed last rites for Wulfgar. Piotr cast cure light wounds on Stormbolt and Froing. The cleric channeled positive energy and then cure light wounds on Stormbolt. They moved camp. The rest of the night passed uneventfully.
The Missing Corpse
In the morning, they found a better, defensible place near the site of the trapper’s death to camp and rested for a day. They discovered that the trapper’s grave had been dug up. Ambiorix determined that something pushed out from the grave. Piotr was not able to find any tracks after two days in the snow. Stormbolt called for Perlivash, but he did not response.
They waited another day for Reppa to summon a new animal companion. Froing and Stormbolt saw more wild boars emerge from the undergrowth. Piotr used Animal Friendship to get them to wander off. The rest of the day passed uneventfully. Piotr made some excellent rabbit for dinner.
On the first watch, Ambiorix saw the Trapper slowly approaching the camp. Froing cast Detect Undead while Ambiorix awakened Stormbolt and then Piotr. Froing determined that the Hunter was undead and alone.
Ambiorix readied his attack. Stormbolt used his breath weapon. Froing channeled positive energy. Piotr and Ilya charged. Ilya clawed it and it dropped. Ambiorix examined the corpse and determined that it was zombified, but could not identify who had commanded it. Stormbolt cremated it. Froing checked but found no more undead.
