In the Narlmarches
Pyotr the Hunter and his tiger Ilya, Reppa the druid and her wolf Wulfgar, Ambiorix the archaeologist, Stormbolt the taninim trueblood sorceror, and Froing the cleric embarked from Olaf’s Trading Post to assault the bandit camp on the Thorn River.
Having defeated the kobolds that were hoarding a patch of Moon Radishes, Froing healed the party’s wounds. They traveled for the remainder of the day and made camp just inside the cover of the forest next to a small stream for protection from the heavy rain. The night was dark and cold outside the range of the heat stone. They dined on the pork they had prepared on the previous night. The night passed uneventfully.
The Bandit Camp
In the morning, there was only a light rain, but the trail they were following was lost. They continued along the edge of the forest until they came to a river. They backtracked slightly and followed a parallel course through the forest until they came upon evident horse traffic.
Passing through the forest, Stormbolt noticed some humanoid movement in the canopy ahead. Something was then thrown just short of Pyotr and exploded with a loud bang that deafened, him, his horse, Ilya, and Piotr’s horse.
Reppa, Ambiorix and Froing advanced and prepared to fight. Piotr spotted the bandit, dismounted, and drew his bow and fired. Ilya climbed the tree. Stormbolt attempted to cast an Energy Missle, but missed. He moved closer. Arrows shot at Stormbolt, Piotor, and Ilya missed, but Ambiorix was hit.
Reppa dismounted and charged one with Wulfgar. Ambiorix loaded his crossbow and shot at the bandit that had shot him. Froing ran into cover near Stormbolt. Piotr shot and missed. Ilya climbed up to the archer’s platform. Stormbolt cast an Energy Missile at the bandit near Reppa. The axe woman appeared and threw daggers at Reppa. One hit. Ilya attacked the bandit as it tried to draw a weapon and mauled him. The bandit also wounded Ilya. The archers missed Ambiorix, Piotr, and Wulfgar.
Reppa cast Entangle at the axe woman and anyone near her. The bandits were not immediately affected. Ambiorix reloaded and shot the archer. Froing advanced and drew his saber. Piotr shot his target. Ilya clawed his target and he went down. Stormbolt advanced and hit a bandit with a Jolt. The axe woman ran out of the Entangle zone. The bandit followed her. The archers missed Ambiorix and Piotr.
Reppa did not see any other opponents. She and Wulfgar attacked the axe woman. Reppa missed, but Wulfgar bit her. Ambiorix missed his target. Froing advanced and hit the bandit and killed him. Piotr shot and killed his target. Ilya moved into position to leap onto the axe woman. Stormbolt moved and hit her with a Jolt. The axe woman attacked and dropped Reppa. The last bandit retreated into the tree.
Reppa bled. Wulfgar missed. Ambiorix lost his target, so he cast a Cure Light on himself. Froing moved to Reppa and stabilized her. Piotr advanced to look for the hidden bandit. Ilya leapt down from the tree. Stormbolt bit the axe woman. She maneuvered and hit Froing. The last bandit fell out of a tree.
Wulfgar attacked, but missed. Ambiorix shot and killed the last bandit. Froing channeled to heal Reppa, Wulfgar, and himself. Piotr and Ilya advanced to the axe woman. Stormbolt hit her with another Jolt. The axe woman dropped Froing.
Wulfgar bit the axe woman and dropped her. Piotr cast a Heal on Froing.
