The Gold Mine
The party recovered the horses and redistributed the loads from the dead horse. They explored the rest of the area on the south side of the river, then they returned to the bandit camp for the night. The night passed uneventfully.
The next day, the exited the forest and headed toward Oleg’s. They explored the region to the east of the river. Reppa discovered a concealed cave in the earth. Stormbolt stuck his head in a looked around with his darkvision. The cave went down 20 feet and he saw another cave beyond that.
Froing threw a light coin into the further cave. The far wall was 30 feet beyond the opening. Stormbolt went first, followed by Piotr and then Ilya. The far cave was 30 feet in diameter. The far was sparkled. Aeldred recognized the sparkles as gold. Froing looked around for signs of miners, but there were none. It was a nice thick vein of gold.
More Trolls
They returned to the bandit camp for the night. While setting up, a herd of elk entered the clearning. When they noticed the party, the elk ran off. Piotr, Ilya, and Aeldred were on the second watch, when they noted three trolls coming from beyond the river.
Aeldred awakened Reppa. Piotr cast Acid Maw on Ilya. The trolls were distracted by one of them falling over.
Reppa and the wolves rose. She cast Burning Sphere and then commanded the wolves to attack the same troll. They flaked it and bit it. Aeldred clawed one. Piotr missed. Ilya clawed and bit savagely. The troll attacked Ilya with a claw and a bite. Stormbolt and Froing awakened. Another troll clawed Stormbolt before he got up.
Reppa’s Burning Sphere injured the troll more. Jeju missed, but Max bit and tripped it. Reppa stoked the campfire into an inferno. Aeldred put the first troll down. Piotr stabbed the second troll. Stormbolt hit the troll with a volitile fire missle. Ilya clawed the second troll. Froing ran to the fire. The second troll clawed Stormbolt. The third troll mauled Stormbolt.
