Gideon Dubhghall, Man at Arms, Chesley Walt the Cleric, Father Wyn Modeste, Adamina Lylou the Mage, and Finlay Lorin, Adventurer were heading for Würzburg when an angry woman appeared from over the next hill, strode up, and attacked Gideon. She decried the plight of women in a man’s world and sought to vent her fury on whatever men she came across. The clerics talked her down, and the woman, named Magda, agreed to lead them to Würzburg.
Magda recommended following the road toward Theidenfeld, but just over the next hill they group was accosted by members of the Bürgerfriedensmiliz (Citizens’ Peace Patrol) who offered to take them to Karlstadt, where the wizards known as The Seven have outlawed violence. When the party hesitated, the newcomers demanded their compliance. When one tried to capture Adamina with a mancatcher, the others fought back, and the Bürgerfriedensmiliz ran away in the direction they had intended to go.
To avoid possible entanglements with the Bürgerfriedensmiliz down the road, the party elected to cross the wilderness toward Zellingen, where there was a bridge across the River Main. They travelled there without incident, and upon arrival in Zellingen, they purchased three days of rations, which were all the remaining villagers could spare. The majority of the inhabitants had fled toward the Lutheran or Catholic camps, so the party commandeered an abandoned house for the night.
In the early hours of the morning, Finlay observed the village being attacked by a giant locust. The party was awakened. Finlay threw some oil on the creature, and then Gideon set it ablaze with a torch. The fighter was mauled in the process, but the clerics healed him as the monster perished in the flames.
