K’rek returned to Stormhold and announced the demise of King Stormbolt and his council at the hands of the evil fey. This plummeted the kingdom of Stormhaven into chaos. Within a month, bandits had raided the outer settlements and razed some buildings.
Near the end of the month, a blue dragon named Cerulean thundered into the central plaza of Stormhold seeking to learn the details of Stormbolt’s death. K’rek wove a tale that the dragon found credible. Cerulean announced his intention to lay the fey compound to waste, but the kobold insisted that they stabilize the kingdom first.
Cerulean asked about Stormbolt’s lair. K’rek told him of the gold mine that the Sootscale tribe was guarding for him. The dragon wanted to go there, but K’rek persisted in waiting a few days for things to settle in Stormhold. In the mean time, K’rek appointed him Marshall of the kingdom.
With a new dragon in town, the kobolds started following Cerulean around and wanted to be Marshalls as well. He decreed that the Sootscale tribe would be the royal police force.
