On the road to Nieuport,
0800 – They came upon a disabled German truck blocking the road. Killer and Clara noticed that there were soldiers on either side of the road in the fields below, and that the truck had fallen into a crater in the road such that some of the wheels were off the ground.
Gus proposed using Chance’s SS appearance to bull their way through the situation. Clara agreed. Killer was also opposed to shooting, given the numbers.
They approached slowly. The Hauptmann in command asked the SS officer to the team’s enlisted to help lift the truck out of a crater. Gus noted that the axel of the truck was broken. The Hauptmann will then attempted to commandeer the team’s truck, but Chance and Clara brow beat him into backing down.
Sneaking Into Town
1200 – On the outskirts of Nieuport, they found that there were only two bridges into the town, and there were German troops all over.
Gus proposed waiting until nightfall and then swimming across the river toward where they could see a U-boat docked.
They found an abandoned farmhouse and rested until nightfall. Clara inspected everyone’s wounds and accidentally injured Chance’s leg further. She cleaned him up and reset the dressing.
2100 – Gus and Killer went on a reconnaissance. The snuck past several guard towers to get a view of the U-boat at the dock. There were no indications that it was preparing to set sail.
