Recuperation
The party spent a week at Oleg’s recovering, reequiping, and retraining. Stormbolt abandoned sorcery to hone his draconic abilities. Froing and Aeldred went back to the Restov to get new charters and escort the tanner back to measure for Stormbolt’s saddlebags. While there, they were assigned Lucee the Paladin to bolster the company.
Escorting the Cleric
The next week, while the tanner did his work at Oleg’s, the company departed to escort the cleric Jhod Kavken to the Temple of Erastil en route to take on the Stag Lord. The snows were gone, though it was still cool at night.
Along the border of the forest, they came upon a pack of wolves. Lucee insisted that they avoid the creatures and continue on their way. Stormbolt noticed that the largest wolf was actually a worg, which was evil. He told the paladin, who had failed to notice. Stormbolt could not leave the challenge unaddressed, but he was coerced into moving on anyway.
Attack of the Whiptail
At nightfall, they were still half a day from the river. They made camp in the open near the edge of the forest. Lucee took the first watch. Froing and Oostend took the second. Stormbolt took the third.
On the second watch, Oostend saw a huge, centipede-like creature charge and bite him. Froing awakened Lucee and Stormbolt. Oostend bit it.
Lucee stood and charged the creature. Stormbolt advanced to flank it. The creature failed to bite the dragon, but tail slapped the paladin and tripped her. Froing awakened other cleric and then summoned some things. Oostend attacked and mauled it. Lucee sliced it, Stormbolt clawed it, and it dropped.
